At the ESL Learning Center for Women in Charlotte, NC., you will have the opportunity to learn English as a second language by attending school 12 hours per week for 10 weeks. In addition to grammar instruction you will learn American survival skills by visiting places like the supermarket, bank, post office and library. You will learn the vocabulary for cooking and shopping for clothes by actually cooking and shopping!
Special guest speakers will demonstrate crafts, talk about health issues and spend time in conversation with you and your classmates at the ESL Learning Center. You will learn more about your community here in Charlotte by reading and discussing the local newspaper and periodicals, and by visiting places of cultural interest and significance. Because class size is limited, you will have lots of opportunity for conversation practice in English.
